Well, maybe everyone will be happy now!
As I posted in my last journal edit, there's now a way to disable the "Share Buttons".
hq.deviantart.com/blog/2724826… If you left DA, over this issue and I was watching you, I've probably dumped you off my watch list. You might want to drop me a note or at least comment if you're back, and you want me to watch you again.
If you have a Redbubble account, you might want to spread the info about the new features on DA, to those people who left, and welcome them to come back. 
Personally, some pretty unkind things were said about me, because I tried to get people to calm down, and not jump the ship. I tried to show people that the Share Buttons really made no difference in copyright infringement issues. Some folks chose not to believe me, or just wanted a reason to leave...
That doesn't matter.
DA is still the best place for artists to network with other artists.
For people to learn from one another, and share their art.
I wish those who left will indeed return now.
Maybe they have learned that the staff here, can, and does listen, and will respond to intelligent feedback. You know, I read a journal not too long ago by
moonbeam13, that was rightfully pointing out that devaints didn't really need to hammer on the staff over a small glitch that happened. Apparently it had something to do with a notice that the system didn't allow folks to delete from their message centers. Since she sent this one out folks decided to send all kinds of nastiness to her.
I personally don't understand why some folks here feel that they can go around hammering on anyone, dropping "F-bombs" like rain from the sky... It's a lot simpler to ask a question in a mannerly fashion.
Mind you, you don't necessarily always get a mannerly answer... but usually I do!
Still, it's always best to take the high road.
Anyways, one of the things
moonbeam13 pointed out was that the staff folks were artists themselves. So I thought it was about time that I went and checked this out for myself.
Not that I didn't believe her... I just wanted to see what some of these good people did! 
Admittedly, I didn't really find a totally complete list till after I had started this. I also did not include the volunteer staff like the Gallery Moderators or the HQ volunteer staff. I'm sure I missed tons of $ folks, as well. So if I missed someone, don't be all upset with me, it wasn't an intentional slight!
The list below, is in no particular order so if you think your image shouild have appeared before someone elses, just imagine that it is!

A guy stops by to visit his friend. They talk for a while and then the friend asks, "My feet are cold. Would you be so kind as to go get me my sneakers please?" The guest obliges and goes upstairs. There he sees his friend's daughters, both very good looking. Being the adventurous and quick thinking kind, he says: "Hi, ladies! Your daddy sent me here to have sex with you!" They stare at him and say, "That can't be!" He replies, "OK, let's check!" He shouts at his friend down the stairs, "Both of them?" "Yes, both of them!"

Jane was a first time contestant on the $65,000 quiz show, where you have to answer questions to win the cash prize.
Lady luck had smiled in her favor, as Jane had a gained substantial lead over her opponents. She even managed to win the game but, unfortunately, time had run out before the show's host could ask her the big question. Needless to say, Jane agreed to return the following day. Jane was nervous and fidgety as her husband drove them home. "I've just gotta win tomorrow. I wish I knew what the answers are. You know I'm not going to sleep at all tonight. I will probably look like garbage tomorrow."
"Relax, honey," her husband, Roger, reassured her. "It will all be OK." Ten minutes after they arrived home, Roger grabbed the car keys and started heading out the door. "Where are you going?" Jane asked. "I have a little errand to run. I should be back soon" he replied. Jane waited impatiently for Roger's return. After an agonizing 3 hour absence, Roger returned, sporting a very wide and wicked grin. "Honey, I managed to get tomorrow's question and answer!"
"What is it?" she cried excitedly.
"OK. The question is: 'What are the three main parts of the male anatomy?' And the answer is 'The head, the heart, and the penis.' " Shortly after that, the couple went to sleep with Jane, now feeling confident and at ease, plummeting into a deep and restful slumber. At 3:30 in the morning, however, Jane was shaken awake by Roger, who was asking her the quiz show question. "The head, the heart, and the penis," Jane replied groggily before returning to sleep. And Roger asked her again in the morning, this time as Jane was brushing her teeth. Once again, Jane replied correctly.
So it was that Jane was once again on the set of the quiz show. Even though she knew the question and answer, she could feel the butterflies conquering her stomach and nervousness running through her veins. The cameras began running and the host, after reminding the audience of the previous days events, faced Jane and asked the big question.
"Jane, for $65,000, what are the main parts of the male anatomy? You have 10 seconds."
"Hmm, uhm, the head?" she said nervously. "Very good. Six seconds."
"Eh, uh, the heart?" "Very good! Four seconds."
"I, uhh, ooooooohh, darn! My husband drilled it into me last night and I had it on the tip of my tongue this morning..."
"That's close enough," said the game show host,
"CONGRATULATIONS YOU'VE WON $65,000!!!"

A man comes home from a night of drinking. As he falls through the doorway, his wife snaps at him, "What's the big idea coming home half drunk?" The man replies, "I'm sorry honey. I ran out of money."
Just in case anybody wants to know. I'm 53 years old. I have no illusions regarding photography as a career. I was a professional wedding and portrait shooter many many years ago. I was trained by a PPAA award winning Professional Photographer. I now shoot primarily for fun, and enjoy helping others as I can. To dispel any misunderstandings, I've never referred to myself as an "artist".
To me, that is a professional designation.
I am a shooter, that's what I am.
I
am a professional craftsperson, and so is my wife. My wife and I have run our own business for the past 31 years, and we manage to keep our heads afloat.
I also do not discuss what I do for a living on DA, as this is my pleasure, and I prefer not to mix my profession with my pleasure.

By the way, if I'm watching you, and you're watching me, I probably won't thank you for any 's. I'll spend more time going through your gallery, or viewing your deviations, and talking with you via comments because I'm not spending time thanking for 's! 
I also do not participate in the "Link System". I have no opposition to others participating. I just personally don't have the time to do so.

Also, this is a Politics, Religion, and Hate free zone. I have friends from all walks of life, all religious denominations, sects, you name it. In my journal features you're likely to find a Jew's deviation next to an Arabs, Black next to White and any combination in between.
One other note. I am a former Marine. It was an honor to serve my country.
I am proud of all service people around the world, who choose to serve their countries, past and present.
I have close friends who were Army Pathfinders, My Brother was Special Forces in Viet-Nam. My Mother was a WAVE (Navy WWII). My son, (Wyrdhaven's husband) was Army Airborne during Desert Storm.
A particular deviant here that I watch is former Air Force.
I entered the service in 1974 when the Navy & Marines no longer accepted would be young felons,and trouble makers and the Army no longer accepted losers and conscripts. Since that time in military history the services have learned that we're all pulling on the same rope. There's no room on my page for badmouthing any branch of the service. I refuse to engage in berating any branch of the United States Armed forces. We all served under the same flag 
. If anyone chooses to berate any service, they will be blocked from my page.
There's nothing we can really do about those who hate. So don't spread it around here please!
